The national budget will indeed be presented this coming Monday by the Minister of Finance, Dave Tancoo, according to a post from the UNC’s official page.
Usually, this announcement is made in the Parliament, or via a statement from the Ministry of Finance.
But confusion was ignited last evening when an unofficial flyer was widely shared on social media, despite no official announcement being made by the Government, or any government official.
According to reports, during this time, even a UNC Minister published this date on social media, then quickly retracted it without explanation.
However, at 12:20am, on the UNC’s official Facebook page, what seemed to be an official flyer on a yellow background, stated that the 2025/2026 budget, will be presented on that date, October 13th.
This seemed to be an official confirmation, even though it was not posted by the Ministry of Finance, Minister of Finance or the Office of the Prime Minister’s pages.
Many used social media to comment and question why the announcement was not made by Government Minister or from the Ministry.
