The Blue Wave Harmony, the newest cargo ship for the inter-island sea-bridge, is currently on its first test run to Tobago, with commercial service expected begin within a few days.
Works Minister Jearlean John and THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, and other officials toured the vessel earlier today at the Port of Port of Spain.
Minister John described the development as a significant moment for Tobagonians, saying the vessel will improve reliability on the sea-bridge and ensure Tobago’s business remains a priority.
Chief Secretary Augustine welcomed the vessel as a major boost to inter-island business opportunities and reliability.
The vessel can accommodate approximately 125 freight units, 31 refrigerated (reefer) sockets, along with 73 passenger cabins, a 142-seat self-service restaurant, lounge and entertainment areas.
