Local Government minister Khadijah Ameen says the Post Carnival clean-up was a success.
Speaking to the Breakfast Show earlier today, Minister Ameen said extensive clean-up operations took place across the country under the National Program for the Upkeep of Public Spaces.
She said teams were deployed at the major Carnival centres in Port of Spain and San Fernando, and throughout regional communities and popular camping areas.
Minister Ameen said 18 local government coordinators worked alongside the 18 National Carnival Commission coordinators to ensure converge of all major events.
She commended workers for their dedication and professionalism during the effort, noting minimal absenteeism and no major incidents.
Ms Ameen said that Ash Wednesday beach activities, river limes, and weekend cool down event were expected to draw large crowds.
She said teams are now focused on maintaining beaches and rivers to ensure continued cleanliness and public safety.
