With the National Budget just around the corner, the Agricultural Society is highlighting key priorities for the sector.
Speaking with 103.1FM News, President Darryl Rampersad outlined some of the proposals shared with the Agriculture Minister for consideration.
Mr Rampersad also called for a change in the criteria to make the Agro Incentive programme more farmer friendly.
Additionally, the Agriculture Society urged the government to ensure that lands, particularly in areas like Orange Grove and Plum Mitan, where land remains abandoned are utilized for productive agriculture.
Mr Rampersad said these measures are essential for stabilizing food prices and driving growth in the sector.
