9,060 metres of guardrails will be installed along accident-prone areas along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Higways.
According to the Works Ministry, this will deliver stronger protection where it is most needed.
Through its Highways Division, in a multi-phase upgrade, the Ministry is removing old cable barriers and installing durable guardrails along the highways, connecting north to south.
Works are underway across three priority sections, including Claxton Bay to Macaulay, Macaulay to Gasparillo and Gasparillo to Golconda.
