The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has declared that the 2026 Dry Season has officially started, urging citizens to manage and conserve water.
The Met Service said the season will be characterized by significantly reduced rainfall, warm days, cool nights, and stronger trade winds.
It stated that January to March will be wetter and warmer than normal, with lower fire risks and increased mosquito breeding sites.
However, from April to May, typical rainfall levels will return with an increased probability of Saharan dust haze.
The Met Service urged sustainable water management practices and called on citizens to refrain from activities that could cause forest and bush fires.
