Two Venezuelan men were arrested following a robbery in Princes Town
A male victim was plying his white Subaru for hire around 8:35pm yesterday, when he picked up five men along the Naparima Mayaro Road.
They allegedly asked to be taken to Borde Narve, however on reaching Inverness Road, the victim was accosted with a gun and robbed of his cellphone, cash and vehicle.
Police later intercepted the car in Ste Madeleine, where one of the gunmen fired at them.
Though the officers returned fire, no one was injured.
The two suspects were held, while the other three escaped.
Police also recovered two pistols at the scene.
