Over 160 people are facing charges following anti-crime operations by the TTPS over the Divali weekend.

Between October 16th and 21st, police conducted a total of 426 exercises, across all 10 police divisions, seizing six firearms, 77 kilos of cannabis, cocaine, and 176 rounds of ammunition.

Police also seized over 77kg of cannabis and just under 400 grams of cocaine.

Nearly 3,000 searches and 2,000 traffic offences have been recorded thus far, under the ongoing State of Emergency.

The TTPS said the operations were focused on major roadways and were guided by intelligence.
