Former Energy Minister Stuart Young is criticising the Government over its stance on the restructuring of Atlantic LNG.

In a Facebook post this morning, Mr Young said while in Opposition, the incumbent Energy Minister and Prime Minister consistently questioned the December 2023 restructuring.

He said the PNM Government spent approximately five years negotiating with Shell and BP to complete what he described as a historic agreement.

According to Mr Young, the deal secured new basket pricing for gas based on European and Asian indices and Brent oil pricing, along with a 10% shareholding in Trains Two and Three and LNG cargoes at no cost to citizens.
