Vicky Boodram has been freed of more than 100 fraud charges, because prosecutors failed to file their evidence.
The former travel agent was discharged after the DPP’s office missed three court deadlines, which led to High Court Master Lisa Singh-Phillip granting the release earlier today.
According to a Newsday report, Master Singh-Phillip said under the circumstances, it would be unfair to continue proceedings.
Ms Boodram has been in custody since 2016 and still faces charges related to her 2017 prison escape, due in court next month.
