Two Venezuelan men have been denied bail by a High Court Master after being charged with a violent attempted robbery in Penal.
29-year-old Paul Eduardo Valero Padron and 21-year-old Anthony Jesus Jiminez Hernandez faced two counts of assault with intent to rob, as well as wounding, and possession of a firearm.
The charges arise from an incident reported on August 13th, where a 55-year-old man, a forklift operator and taxi driver, was shot in the thigh after picking up the accused as passengers.
Bail was denied, pending confirmation of their criminal records from Interpol.
The men are expected to return to court on August 25th.
