The National Assembly of Venezuela is set to discuss declaring the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, persona non grata.

Venezuela’s Newspaper El Universal reported today the proposal was made in accordance with Article 111 of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament.

The Parliament of Venezuela is also set to discuss a Bill for the Commands for the Integral Defence of Venezuela in Tuesday’s session.

Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro accused Mrs Persad-Bissessar of being a “war monger” on Monday, after news that a US warship had anchored in Port of Spain.

He suspended gas agreements with Trinidad and Tobago following a request from Venezuela’s Ministry of Hydrocarbons and the State-owned oil company, PDVSA.

Venezuela’s Defence Minister Vladimir Padrino López also warned Trinidad and Tobago that the CIA planned to attack a US military vessel on T&T territory and then blame Venezuela in a “false flag operation.”
