Venezuela is calling for stronger regional unity and an end to sanctions and military actions across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Speaking at the CELAC summit in Colombia, Foreign Minister Yván Gil urged leaders to work towards a “zone of peace,” free from what he described as coercive measures that threaten sovereignty.
He also called for collective action against sanctions affecting countries like Venezuela and Cuba, stressing that true unity cannot exist under economic pressure.
Gil further emphasized the need to respect heads of state and protect national institutions, while reaffirming his country’s commitment to regional cooperation.
The summit brought together leaders from across the region to discuss unity, development, and international collaboration.
