The University of the West Indies has risen into the top 3.6% of universities worldwide, according to the latest Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

The ranking, which recognizes The UWI’s notable gains in research quality and international engagement, has been hailed by Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Hilary Beckles.

He said the results reflect the University’s strong strategic focus and growing global impact.

The Times Higher Education rankings assess performance across teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.

Only 2,191 institutions from more than 33,000 universities and higher degree-granting institutions across 115 countries qualified to be ranked.
