The Commanding Officer of the USS Gravely paid a courtesy visit on Chief of Defence Staff, Captain Don Polo, on Monday at Chaguaramas.
The T&T Defence Force reported that Captain Polo met with Commander Gregory J Piorun Jr. on Monday, discussing long-standing military to military bilateral relations.
In addition, they spoke about current training exercises and future plans for further collaboration for capacity building and expert exchanges.
Commander Piorun Jr. was accompanied by Captain(N) Gideon T. Teklegiorgis, US Military Liaison Officer and other staff members from the US Embassy, Port of Spain.
Also present at the meeting was Commander Ray Frederick, Acting Commanding Officer of the TTCG.
The US Navy warship is in Trinidad until 30 October.
