US$11.25 million will be distributed as prize money among the 20 participating nations for the recently completed ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
As champions, India take home the biggest share – they earned $2,639,423 after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final.
New Zealand received the second-largest share of $1,422,692.
Semi-finalists South Africa are the only other side to breach the million-dollar mark, earning $1,005,577.
The fourth semi-finalists, England, earned $974,423.
The West Indies and Pakistan earned $538,269 and $522,692 respectively, while Zimbabwe’s stellar performance will see them take home a healthy purse of $491,538.
The remaining Super 8 team, tournament co-hosts Sri Lanka, earned $475,962.
USA, Australia and Afghanistan all ended with $309,808.
These totals reflect the base amount of $225,000 received by all participating teams, along with whatever bonuses would have been earned based on final placements, wins, and progression through each stage of the tournament.
