Airlines have started flight cancellations, following the FAA orders of reductions at 40 high-traffic U.S. airports over safety concerns.
Reuters reported that United Airlines plans to cut about four percent of flights from todayvthrough Sunday, while Delta Air Lines is cancelling roughly 170 flights on Friday, with fewer on Saturday.
The FAA had initially planned 10 % reductions but will start at four percent this weekend, gradually increasing next week.
United says the cuts will result in fewer than 200 daily cancellations.
