Delcy Rodríguez says the recent decision by the United States to formally recognize her administration is about restoring the vitality of Venezuela rather than legitimizing a specific leader.

Washington notified a federal court in New York that it recognizes Rodríguez as Venezuela’s head of state and the authority legally empowered to represent the country in litigation involving Venezuelan assets in the United States.

The move effectively redefines who can act on behalf of the Venezuelan state in US courts and could influence ongoing legal battles involving the country’s overseas assets.

Rodríguez said the recognition should be viewed as an opportunity for Venezuela to rebuild key sectors and restore essential services.

She noted that the broader goal of the political transition is to allow the country to recover economically and socially, particularly in areas such as health, education and public services.

The development comes amid a gradual normalization of relations between Washington and Caracas.
