Two men are in custody following separate anti-crime exercises in the Tobago Division that led to the seizure of a firearm and ammunition.
In the first incident, officers from the Crown Point Police Station were on early-morning patrol around 4:10 on Monday, February 2nd, when they went to a business place in the district.
Police say they observed a man remove an object resembling a firearm from his waistband and place it in a grassy area of the car park.
The suspect was immediately detained, and a pistol fitted with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition was recovered.
A 31-year-old man of Patience Hill has been arrested in connection with that find.
In a separate exercise later in the day, officers from the Divisional Task Force, Area East, and Roxborough Police Station arrested a 44-year-old man of Argyle in connection with robbery and other violent offences.
Police say investigations into both matters are continuing.
