The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association, TTUTA, met with the Teaching Service Commission on Wednesday, February 25th, to discuss key issues affecting educators.

During the online meeting, TTUTA advanced members’ concerns, including acting appointments, confirmation of ATPs, inaccurate appointment dates, and delays in transfers.

The Commission clarified that acting appointments require formal Ministry recommendations, and confirmed there is no connection between acting roles and confirmation processes.

Challenges with staffing, communication, and filling vacancies were also addressed.

TTUTA will continue to advocate for teachers, encouraging members to submit concerns in writing for formal representation.

In addition, the Commission will be in Tobago on Friday, February 27th, to meet with local educators and address region-specific matters.
