As T&T marks World Immunisation Day 2025, the Blind Welfare Association is calling for better accessibility in vaccination and health programmes for the blind and visually impaired.
Executive Officer Kenneth Suratt highlighted barriers faced by the visually impaired during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as inaccessible digital vaccine cards and websites.
He added that immunisation is a human rights matter, not just a medical issue and called for accessible information and services for all.
The TTBWA is calling on the Ministry of Health to adopt universal design principles in future public health initiatives, ensuring equal access for everyone.
