The T&T Chamber of Industry and Commerce is calling for clear communication on the proposed implementation of “zones” under the Zones of Special Operations Bill.
In a statement, the Chamber says its primary concern is the potential impact of related measures on normal commercial activity.
It believes restrictions on movement, operating hours, or access to communities, if not clearly communicated and carefully managed, may affect workforce mobility, customer access, supply chains, and cash flow, particularly for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
As such, it is calling for clear protocols, advance notice, and ongoing engagement to minimise disruption, preserve confidence, and ensure security objectives are achieved without unintended consequences.
