U.S. President Donald Trump says the United States and Iran have held “very good and productive conversations” aimed at a “complete and total resolution” of hostilities in the Middle East.
Trump announced on TruthSocial that he has instructed a five-day pause on any military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure, pending the outcome of ongoing talks.
He described the discussions as “in-depth, detailed, and constructive,” emphasizing that negotiations will continue throughout the week.
Trump’s statement signals a potential de-escalation in tensions, offering a brief window of diplomacy between the two nations.
However, Iran’s Student News Network (SNN) has quoted an “informed source” in the country’s foreign ministry saying they “deny negotiations” with the US.
Tasnim news agency also reported that “no negotiations” we taking place.
