The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard says search operations remain ongoing for an overdue fishing vessel that left Buccoo, Tobago more than a week ago but never reached its destination.
According to the Coast Guard, the 29-foot pirogue “KAMPAI” departed Buccoo at approximately 1:30 pm on March 2, 2026, en route to Union Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The vessel failed to arrive, prompting a coordinated regional search.
Authorities said coast guard units in Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines have been assisting with port and harbour checks, while the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard continues aerial reconnaissance in surrounding waters.
Despite the ongoing operations, officials reported that there have been no confirmed sightings of the vessel or its crew.
An Urgent Marine Information Broadcast issued by North Post Radio remains active, advising mariners throughout the region to remain vigilant and report any sightings or relevant information as the search continues.
