A Tobago handyman has been sentenced to community service after making threats on social media.
Forty-nine-year-old Jason Wright of Moriah appeared in Scarborough Magistrates’ Court, where he admitted posting a comment online threatening a public official.
The threats, made under the name “Buju B,” were linked to a TikTok video, prompting fear for the safety of the officer and his family.
Following an investigation, Wright was arrested, admitted his actions, and expressed remorse.
Magistrate Gill sentenced him to 240 hours of community service. Failure to complete the hours could lead to a $3,000 fine or six months in prison.
