Minister in the Finance Ministry Dr Kennedy Swaratsingh says the 2026 Budget would rebuild the economy and restore hope in Trinidad and Tobago.
Speaking in the Senate earlier today to open debate on the Budget, Mr Swaratsingh said the Budget was based on fiscal prudence and people-centred government governance.
Dr Swaratsingh said the bill aims to create a synergy between fiscal discipline and developmental ambitions.
He added that revenue-raising measures for Trinidad and Tobago will not only support national goals but also contribute to climate change mitigation, infrastructure development, education, and job creation.
The 2026 Appropriation Bill was Read a Third time and passed on Saturday in the House of Representatives.
