Former Energy Minister Stuart Young is dismissing claims of progress in the energy sector under current minister Roodal Moonilal.
In a statement, Young says there have been no new initiatives since May 2025 leading to increased oil or gas production.
He argued that projected gains from companies like Shell and bp stem from projects approved under the previous PNM administration.
He also credits past government decisions for developments involving Perenco and Touchstone, as well as the restructuring of Atlantic LNG.
Young maintains that current efforts build entirely on groundwork laid before, insisting, quote, “facts are stubborn things.”
