Officers of the Special Investigations Unit, supported by the Inter-Agency Task Force, made a major drug seizure in the Northeastern Division today.
During an intelligence-led operation along the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near the Ibis Building, officers intercepted a vehicle and discovered 40 packages of compressed Colombian marijuana, weighing over 20 kilograms, with an estimated street value of $4.4 million.
The operation, supervised by senior officers including Snr Supt Edwards, led to the arrest of one male suspect.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing as they work to disrupt illegal drug activity in the region.
