Senator Brian Baig has strongly condemned remarks by former Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, describing them as “crude, disgusting and disgraceful.”
In a statement, Mr Baig defended Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, saying she has demonstrated the leadership the country needs through crime-fighting efforts and social support for citizens.
He also called on Dr Rowley to retract the comments and issue a public apology.
Senator Baig warned that such attacks undermine political discourse.
He further argued that past electoral rejection of Dr Rowley’s party reflects public dissatisfaction with that style of leadership.
