The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure reports that its Programme for Upgrading Roads Efficiency, or PURE Unit, is currently on site at the 5.5-kilometre mark on Papourie Road in Barrackpore.
Crews are constructing a Mechanically Stabilised Earth retaining wall to reinforce an embankment affected by land movement.
The structure is designed to withstand ground pressure, strengthen the roadway, and provide long-term, cost-effective stability.
In addition, drainage improvements and road rehabilitation works are ongoing in the area to further secure the corridor and ensure safe, reliable connections for local communities.
The Ministry encourages residents to stay updated by following their social media pages for real-time progress on roadworks across the country.
