The American Foundation for The University of the West Indies (AFUWI) will honour Jamaica’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness with the prestigious Legacy Award at its 29th Annual “The Legacy Continues” Gala on April 17 in New York City.

The Gala unites leaders from business, academia, public service, and philanthropy to raise funds for scholarships that expand access to higher education for talented Caribbean students.

Prime Minister Holness is being recognised for his leadership in education, economic resilience, and regional collaboration.

Other honourees include Anthony and Gregory Belinfanti for generational impact in education, Dr Kevon Rhiney, Dr Wayne A. Frederick, Dr Wayne J. Riley, Dr A. Norman Sabga, Camille Joseph-Goldman, and Jacky Wright, reflecting a commitment to community service, global leadership, and innovation.

AFUWI emphasizes that investing in education today secures the Caribbean’s future, reinforcing the transformative power of opportunity and talent.
