Cricket superstar Kieron Pollard has underscored the importance of youth cricket in shaping future players.
Today, Pollard paid a surprise visit to Under-15 cricketers playing in the Vasha Foods North versus South Classic.
He applauded the event’s organizers, saying it was not an opportunity he had while growing up and urged the youngsters to savour the experience:
“You don’t not want to take the pressures of playing for Trinidad and Tobago and West Indies at this level. You want to learn, to enjoy the camaraderie of your friends, and listening to match officials and your coaches. Then when you get that experience you can take cricket more seriously. Now it is about enjoying it.”
Pollard also hailed the North versus South Classic as a platform for showcasing young talent and called on other former players to get involved TTCB development programs.
