Nearly 50 kilograms of marijuana, with an estimated street value of over $5 million dollars, has been seized following a muti-agency operation.
The operation took place in Port of Spain between 10 AM and 3 PM, after intelligence led officers to chase a vehicle suspected of transporting firearms and drugs from Maracas Bay.
The driver fled on foot, abandoning the vehicle, which was later found to contain 90 bricks of cannabis.
In a separate raid in San Juan, officers also seized over 1 kilogram of suspected marijuana and a Glock 22 pistol with ammunition.
