The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says its Christmas crime-fighting initiative, Operation Festive Shield, is recording results in the Western Division.
On Monday night, officers carried out an intelligence-led operation in the St James and St Clair areas. Police say two men ran from an abandoned building in St James, and a subsequent search led to the discovery of a firearm and ammunition.
Then on Tuesday, detectives from the Four Roads and Carenage CID conducted a targeted operation at a public medical facility.
A female suspect was approached in connection with a report of demanding money by menace and later accompanied officers to the Four Roads Police Station to assist with investigations.
Police say the exercises were completed without incident and investigations are continuing.
