Opposition Leader Penelope Beckles-Robinson has slammed the Government over sweeping increases in passport and immigration fees, calling it a harsh start to 2026.
New passports now cost five hundred dollars, while replacements jump to two thousand, with extra charges for business and priority services.
Beckles-Robinson says the hikes were imposed without warning, consultation, or parliamentary debate, placing an unfair burden on working families.
She is calling on Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar to explain the increases and outline the promised benefits from digitisation and improved services.
