Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar will make an “important statement”, when Parliament meets this afternoon.
In a social media post, Mrs Persad-Bissessar said this comes as the government continues its push on national security and governance.
Attorney General John Jeremie is expected to move a motion to extend the current State of Emergency, for an additional three months.
Other items on today’s agenda include the Law Revision Amendment Bill, aimed at digitising the country’s laws, and the Civil Division Bill 2026.
