The Government will proceed with State plans to observe Republic Day, including the National Awards.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar confirmed plans have not been cancelled, during this afternoon’s Parliament sitting.
She said Cabinet held discussions up to last evening and remains committed to its arrangements, adding it will proceed as announced.
The Prime Minister has also approved the transfer of funds to support the Tobago Republic Day celebrations.
