UNC MP Barry Padarath is blasting recent comments made by PNM Senator Dr. Amery Browne, calling them “irresponsible and reckless.”
In a strongly worded media release, Padarath accused Browne of deliberately mischaracterizing the Prime Minister’s statements and engaging in “selective outrage” to distract from what he says is the PNM’s long history of inflammatory rhetoric.
Padarath cited past controversial statements by senior PNM figures, including former National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds and former prime ministers, arguing that Browne never condemned those remarks but is now attempting to link a private citizen charged with issuing violent threats directly to the Prime Minister.
He says law enforcement is already handling the matter, and insists that violence or incitement of any kind is unacceptable.
Padarath added that the UNC will remain focused on governance and national security.
