Opposition Leader Pennelope Beckles-Robinson has sent a clear message to the Prime Minister, saying no one will be intimidated by insults, bullying or threats.

Speaking at a media conference this morning, she accused the government of “governance by bullying,” claiming it refuses to listen to the Opposition or Independent Senators.

This follows yesterday’s Senate vote against the Zones of Special Operations Bill, which means the Government will not be able to implement its ZOSO initiative.

Mrs Beckles-Robinson rejected claims that Independent Senators are aligned with the PNM, noting several instances where they supported Government legislation in recent proceedings.

She called on the Prime Minister to respect the offices of the President, the Opposition and Independent Senators, warning that the people of Trinidad and Tobago will not accept intimidation.
