Tobago East MP David Thomas says the radar being installed at the ANR Robinson International Airport is part of safety standards for its operations.
Speaking before entering Parliament today, Thomas urged Tobago residents not to be worried about the development.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says US troops are assisting this country in improving radar surveillance capabilities in Tobago in the fight against narco-traffickers.
The Prime Minister was reacting to questions about the presence of US military personnel and equipment at the ANR Robinson Airport in Tobago earlier this week.
