Surujdeo Mangaroo is the new President of the National Council of Indian Culture.
He succeeds Senator Deoroop Teemal, who passed away recently.
Mr Mangaroo has pledged to build on the foundation laid by Senator Teemal, focusing on advancing youth development and enhancing cultural awareness.
He also hopes to empower the younger generation to embrace and celebrate their heritage.
Mr Mangaroo has been with the NCIC for nearly 30 years, serving most recently as First Vice President.
