Retired employees of the MTS say they’ve been waiting years for money owed to them—and now the Ombudsman is stepping in.
In a special report laid in Parliament, Ombudsman Jacqui Sampson-Meiguel revealed that 68 retirees lodged complaints between 2022 and 2025, with nearly half still unpaid—some for more than two years.
The report found a pattern of unjust and improper administration, leaving retirees unable to cover basic expenses, medical care, or even get updates from the company.
MTS has blamed cash-flow problems, citing over 850 million dollars in receivables from state entities.
The Ombudsman has now called for parliamentary intervention to ensure long-overdue benefits are finally paid.
