Minister in the Ministry of Energy Ernesto Kesar offered announcements of hope to former Petrotrin workers, vowing to return T&T to its place as the energy hub of the Caribbean.
Speaking to OWTU members in the refinery car park yesterday, he revealed that full report will be sent to before Cabinet to ensure all workers are considered for land from Petrotrin’s 76,000 acres.
Mr Kesar also announced plans for a “hopeful” reopening of the Guaracara and Santa Flora medical centres within six months and said a successor-ship motion is advancing for OWTU across all five areas.
He also pledged his commitment to find a way to hold the team responsible for the closure of Petrotrin accountable.
The Minister reiterated that the OWTU remains a key partner in restarting the refinery and rebuilding the sector brick by brick.
