Local Government Minister Khadijah Ameen is backing the Prime Minister’s warning to regional corporations.
In a statement over the weekend, the PM said the 2.1 billion dollars disbursed to corporations was “more than enough” for them to operate with.
She also warned that failure to provide honest services for citizens will see the government “move to outsource and mechanize the majority of tasks“.
At a media briefing yesterday, Minister Ameen endorsed this sentiment, saying regional corporations need to be must productive with the funds they receive.
She also dismissed what she said was a claim that PNM corporations received less than UNC corporations in the budget.
