Arima’s Mayor Balliram Maharaj is hoping for the Borough to have its own revenue and social welfare offices.
He spoke to the media at a thanksgiving service to celebrate the 137th anniversary of the Royal Chartered Borough of Arima.
Mr. Maharaj also wants Arima to have a pavilion, hopefully in the name of cricketer Sunil Narine who hails from the Borough.
He says he is looking forward to making Arima a tourist destination, with he First Peoples’ village to be completed in October.
