Maxi taxi drivers in Tobago are protesting over outstanding payments for the months of January and February.
Secretary of the Division of Education Orlando Kerr said the problem is not a news one and he understands the plight of the drivers.
“I know that issue has been is the space for a very long time. I also want to say that I understand the plight of the concessionaires. I understand how they feel. In my previous incarnation, I always fought for bread-and-butter issues so that I totally understand when persons believe that they are not being paid, and they are not being paid on time,” Mr Kerr said.
