A man is dead following a late-night shooting along the Eastern Main Road in Sangre Grande.
Police have identified the victim as Shaquille Layne Samuel, who was found shortly before 2 a.m. near a bar with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers rushed him to the Sangre Grande Hospital, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators recovered 11 spent shells at the scene, as officers from the Homicide Bureau continue enquiries.
No motive has been established and no arrests have been made.
The killing pushes the country’s murder toll to 72 so far this year.
