Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro says he has fully adjudicated the first batch of firearm permit application files.
He adds that these files are being returned to the Firearms Permit Unit for prompt dispatch.
It comes after the Top Cop recently directed that all pending applications with valid and current supporting documents be immediately forwarded to his office.
He also assures that all future submissions will be addressed in an expeditious manner.
The Commissioner recently vowed to streamline the firearm licensing process to eliminate unnecessary bottlenecks.
Meanwhile, regarding the process, the TTPS has directed that no supporting documents be submitted directly to the Firearms Permit Unit.
Instead, applicants are advised to await direct communication from their respective station districts.
It adds that only new applications will be accepted at the FPU, and any other documents must follow the revised channel of submission.
