More than 100 preventative detention orders have been issued by the TTPS, under the current State of Emergency.
During today’s Parliament sitting, Opposition MP Stuart Young asked the Prime Minister how many persons were detained and charged.
Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar disclosed this figure and relating details, in Parliament today.
A nationwide State of Emergency was declared on July 18th, 2025 and was extended for three months by Parliament on July 28th.
