A man and a woman were arrested following a sting operation led by the Anti-Extortion Unit.
During “Operation Strike Point” on Friday, officers conducted an exercise relating to a report that $10,000 had been demanded from a victim.
The suspects allegedly threatened to burn the victim’s vehicle if the money was not paid.

After it was handed over, officers moved in and arrested the 27-year-old female suspect of Spring Trace, Warden Road, Point Fortin.
Subsequent enquiries also led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man, also of Warden Road, Point Fortin.
